Onyfix
What Is Onyfix?
Onyfix is a resin based product, formed upon the nail and set under UV light. It resembles your toe nail and grows painlessly with your nail.
Who Can Benefit From Onyfix?
Onyfix is ideal for anyone experiencing:
* Ingrown toenails
* Split toenails
* Curved or pincer toenails
* Nails which continually separate from the nail bed
* Fear of needles or surgery
It is also a great option for individuals who:
* Want to avoid nail surgery
* Are pregnant or breastfeeding
* Have diabetes or vascular issues
* Aren’t suitable candidates for surgical nail procedures
How Long Does Onyfix Take to Work?
The benefits of Onyfix are experienced immediately. However, unlike nail surgery, Onyfix reshapes your toenail as it grows forward, lifting that painful toenail out of the quick. Onyfix usually takes 4-6 months to reshape your toenail.
We guarantee the product for 3 months, where no mechanical forces act upon your toenail; so during this period, the resin bar should not fall off the toenail during normal activities.
How Does Onyfix Work?
The Onyfix resin is built and shaped onto the nail and cured with UV light. As your nail grows, the resin gently corrects its shape – lifting it out of the quick/sulci and preventing it from growing inward again.
It also helps seal splits and can prevent fungal infections from spreading deeper into the nail.
Onyfix Application Process
1. Prior to your appointment, remove any toenail varnish, shellac or acrylic toenails.
2. Your podiatrist will assess if Onyfix is a suitable treatment option.
3. Your podiatrist will painlessly thin your toenail if necessary.
4. Your podiatrist will remove any debris from your toenail quick/sulci with an alcohol swab.
5. The bonding agent is then applied to your toenail and set under UV light.
6. The resin bar is built on top of your toenail and then set with UV light.
7. If necessary, the resin bar is then shaped for aesthetic appearance.
Ingrown Toenails
Ingrown toenails can happen to anybody, and is a very common condition that can occur at any age.
