Cosmetic Nail Treatment

Cosmetic Nails

Kery-flex nail restoration provides immediate improvement in the appearance of unattractive toenails and is one of the services offered within our podiatry rooms in Erina.

The podiatrists at Erica Dash podiatry are not beauty therapists, nor will they apply nail polish to your toenails, they will however, cut and file your toenails and debride your callouses with sterile instruments.

Why Choose Kerry Flex?

Many people are embarrassed by the appearance of their nails. Kery-flex is their solution, the application of the composite resin allows the natural nail underneath to grow forward, and in many cases a healthy toenail is achieved. Kery-flex is not medicated and therefore is not a fungal nail treatment, it is purely cosmetic.

Kery-flex is often used in conjunction with laser treatment, as the Pin-pointe laser at Erica Dash Podiatry will kill nail fungus however, while waiting for your unsightly nail to grow out, Kery-flex hides the ugly nail and gives the appearance of a natural nail plate and the composite resin remains flexible for comfort.

Your cosmetic nails will last for approximately 8 weeks, depending on how fast your nails grow, during this time you can apply nail polish and safely remove your varnish with acetone and not disturb your cosmetic nail; as Kery-flex is not effected by nail varnish, acetone or detergents.

What Does The Procedure Involve?

As our patient, the reception team will welcome you, one of our friendly podiatrists will then take you into their private consultation room, where you will be assessed, given professional advice and a treatment plan will be written.

Upon acceptance of your treatment plan, you are able to relax and let our podiatrists take full care of you.

If it was determined you have a fungal nail, first we will treat the fungal toenail/s with our Pin-pointe laser, then if there is sufficient time remaining in your consultation, your podiatrist will apply Kery-flex.

A double appointment is required for both services to performed on the same day. Otherwise, it will be recommended you return for your cosmetic nail within a couple of days.

The Procedure

To create a quality, natural looking nail, your appointment will take approximately 30 minutes.

Your podiatrist may cut and file your unsightly nail/s, and after applying the bonding agent, the first step is to build the nail from the skin on the end of your toe back to the free edge of your damaged nail plate.

Next, a second layer of composite resin gel is applied to create a perfect-looking nail, and finally, a topcoat is applied to finish your new look a like nail. (See right image for before & after shots)

Ultra-violet light is used throughout the procedure to set your nail completely. Kery-flex can be applied to any nail, however, the most common nail treated cosmetically at Erica Dash Podiatry is the great toenail.
